Alta California Regional Center (ACRC) is the one agency in the community through which people with intellectual disability or other developmental disabilities (Autism) and their families are helped to make use of all essential public and private services to meet their special needs.

The California Lanterman Developmental Disabilities Services Act mandates that all Regional Centers provide services and supports for persons with developmental disabilities. In addition to direct funding for services, Regional Centers are required to advocate and pursue all possible sources of funding, such as school districts, for people with developmental disabilities.

Call the Board Hotline to reach the voicemail for the Board of Directors Hotline. You may leave comments, compliments, or concerns about Alta. If you leave your name and number, a member of Alta’s Board will get back to you. Messages are transcribed by the secretary.

ALTA Board Hotline:  (916) 978-6638

The ACRC Board meeting schedule and Committee meeting announcements can be obtained from Lisa West, Board Secretary at LWest@AltaRegional.org.

In-Home Supportive Services (IHSS) Minimize
In-Home Supportive Services (IHSS) is a branch of the California Department of Social Services. IHSS is designed to allow persons with significant disability to reside within their own homes by having support for personal care or household needs. A county social worker will interview potential clients at their home to determine eligibility and need for IHSS. Services may include: domestic services such as housekeeping, meal preparation and kitchen clean-up, laundry, shopping for food, non-medical personal services (helping with bathing, dressing, and toileting), and respite care. A person must be unable to live safely at home without help or have limited ability to care for him/herself. IHSS is provided for safety issues.
